Anya Kratz, a freshman at Venice High School, received the Air Force Association (AFA) Award at a recent meeting of the Venice Cadet Squadron. The AFA is proud to support the accomplishments of outstanding cadets at the squadron level with an award package that includes a silver medal accompanied by a sky-blue ribbon and a certificate.
Kratz has been a member of the Civil Air Patrol’s Venice Cadet Squadron since March 2016 and currently holds the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. She has been actively involved with many CAP activities and has served as cadet staff at the last two encampments. She has most notably earned GTM1 (Ground Team Member 1) during the 2018 National Emergency Services Academy.
Michael Richardson, Retired Colonel of the United States Air Force and AFA President of the Florida West Coast Chapter, is shown below presenting the prestigious award to Kratz at Venice City Hall on Tuesday, April 2, 2019. Richardson expressed what a pleasure it was for him to “honor one of Venice Cadet Squadron’s cadets and present the CAP Cadet of the Year Award to a well-deserving cadet”.
